Fundraisers
Below is information about our upcoming fundraisers for this session. Brattleboro Harmonia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that relies on fundraisers in addition to singer and concert fees in order to meet our budget needs. We try and keep our fundraisers fun, unique and effective while building community in the process.
Appeal Letter: Writers Needed
Sometime in early November
By far our largest fundraiser of the year is our annual appeal letter. Anna will be writing our letter this year and it will be snail mailed to about 630+ people. Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 this year. There are two ways you can help:
- Email Kate any names & mailing addresses of friends, family, neighbors or anyone in your life who appreciates community music. This does not have to be anyone who has sung with chorus or has been to a concert, but someone who knows you and what this group means to you. Some of our biggest donors are family to singers who live far away! Growing our appeal list is a big part of reaching our financial goals.
- Sign up to write letters! This means writing a couple sentences at the top of our appeal letter, sealing, stamping and mailing on a designated date. All materials & instructions will be supplied. More details to come during rehearsals, but email Kate if you would like to be added to our potential letter writer list!
Welcome Center Fundraiser
Friday, November 6 from 7 am – 7 pm at the I-91 Welcome Center, Guilford
Bring donated items early to rehearsals on Thursday, Nov. 5
Brattleboro Harmonia will be INSIDE the I-91 Welcome Center selling baked goods, hot cider/tea, hot dogs, sandwiches, and so much more. All items will be donated/made by all of YOU!
A link to sign up to make & bring items to rehearsal on Thursday, Nov. 5 will be available soon. Our Welcome Center committee will be staffing the event all day on the 6th, so go visit and tell all your friends to head down (and back up) 91 for a great snack!
Spring Party & Silent Auction
Thursday, December 10
6 – 9 pm – Location TBA
Brattleboro Harmonia hosts a very special party at the end of each session. The party includes a potluck, singing games and our very unique silent auction featuring handmade items or services by you!
This is a wonderful opportunity for all members past and present to support Brattleboro Harmonia financially by donating an item to be auctioned and/or coming to the party to bid on all the items you want to take home. Items are as unique as our singers as they are homemade or reflect something singers have/do to offer.
What can you donate?
Consider something handmade like jewelry, pottery, socks, floral arrangements to name a few. A gift certificate for a yummy baked good or a service you offer (massage, coching, etc) always makes a great donation. Items ranging in bids from $5 to $100 are ideal.
